The large abstract expressionist paintings I am most known for are best understood as attempts at expressing a sense of unity. Every painting is a balancing of colour, structures, foreground and background as well as emotional tone and texture. They have specific associations in the process of painting them, but once done, they accept all projections brought forth from the unconscious minds of their viewers. They are meant to be touched as their physicality and their dimensionality, their sculpturality is essential to the Unified Field they open the door to. (thank you Phillip Freedenberg, author of America and the Cult of the Cactus Boots).
